Black Red FG Oz
Colors
Red
Description
A dark red plumeria that intensifies in heat, developing even darker coloration. Exudes brilliant fragrance especially in the evenings. Produces huge inflorescences with really thick stems supporting large, sturdy blooms arranged in substantial flower clusters. While the inflorescences produced are notably large in structure and number, individual plants may not produce many inflos at a time. Deep red, velvety flowers create striking contrast against dark green foliage. There are nomenclature concerns in Australia where some growers incorrectly call Blood Red or Irma Bryan as Black Red. Two distinct Black Red varieties exist in Australia, one being the Hilo type.

Anecdotal Notes
Diana
Dark red with black veining and in heat becomes even darker. She exudes a brilliant scent in the evenings. HUGE inflos with really THICK stems and lots STRONG sturdy blooms – but – the ones that I have don’t seem to get lots of inflos at a time, but the ones they do get are BIG in structure and number of blooms. Deep red velvety flowers contrast with the dark green foliage. Strong Fruity Scent. There are a couple of growers in Australia calling Blood Red/Irma Bryan as Black Red too. There are two Black Reds in Australia though, the one that is Hilo
