Description

Bridal Bouquet is Plumeria pudica (the species name means ‘shy’) from Puerto Rico. It is a rare evergreen variety with a bushy, hedge-like habit and unusual hammerhead- or spoon-shaped leaves smaller than those of typical hybrids. Flowers are bright white, about 2 inches across, with a small yellow center, carried in large bouquet-like clusters and produced year-round. It is fast-growing with rather narrow stems and profuse branching, including branching from the middle of a stem without first flowering, and can rebloom 2 to 3 times per year on the same growth axis without additional branching. It keeps its leaves year-round and blooms readily indoors in bright light. Its only drawback is that the flowers are unscented.
