Description
Ducko Wheelock (#396) is a seedling of Thai Aper, a well-known white tree in Thailand. Flowers are dark rose-pink with a large bright yellow center and have good keeping quality with little fading. In heat the flowers take on a darkish purple cast.
Appearance
Dark rose-pink with a large bright yellow center. Underside is rose-pink with white fingers reaching from the center almost to the petal edges. Flowers darken to purplish in heat.
Fragrance
Mild, spicy-sweet; described as poor in intensity.
Provenance
From Coral Coast. Named for the late Donald 'Ducko' Wheelock of a local pioneer family, a devoted Fremantle Dockers supporter whose team colors are purple, white and green. Seedling of Thai Aper.
