Anecdotal Notes
as Richard stated last year, I’m not sure where the name U of H Orange came from, but it makes a good story: “A cutting was stolen for a private U of H collection”. Note: In Hawai'i, we say UH and not U of H, so it makes sense to me that she called it UH Orange and not U of H Orange. Distributed by Cheryl Oshiro. According to Twila White: "It was near the campus not on it. She didn't set out to name it U of H. She wrote UH orange or Orange UH to differentiate it from other cuttings she brought back. Someplace along the line that became the name and it was assumed it must have come from a tree on the campus. Needs heat to bring out colors. Can get black tip. Recommended for fragrance. True orange with pink highlights. Sets seed.
