Description

Elizabeth Thornton hybrid, cultivar #229. Produces 3-inch flowers with wide, elliptical, highly overlapping petals with rounded tips and no bands on front or back. Texture is heavy, keeping quality is good. Compact tree with an unusual swooping growth habit, where branches grow outward and then turn upward. Blooms in big, fragrant bunches. Hard to root and one of the harder Elizabeth Thornton hybrids to find. Has a tendency toward lanky growth but can form three-way tip splits with an inflorescence. Sets seed.
