Anecdotal Notes
tuberculata see also P. obtusa tuberculate, a subspecies of obtusa. Some confusion between p. tuberculata and P. obtusa var sericifolia (new name). Plumeria tuberculata G.Lodd. (now a synonym of Plumeria obtusa var. sericifolia (C.Wright ex Griseb.) Woodson) - Hispaniola, Bahamas. Cold tolerant. Very bumpy wood. Attracts mealybugs. Nichole Tiernan: P. tuberculata is an interesting species for sure! It's the only species (besides P. obtusa) which I have seen growing on multiple islands (Dominican Republic and Cuba), however, it could be that all in Cuba are P. sericifolia and not in fact P. tuberculata as it was described as occurring in the DR. P. tuberculata and P. sericifolia both have hairs on the underside of the leaf and a marginal vein around the leaf. The flowers also look similar. Authors have disagreed on P. tuberculata in Cuba making quite a mess to sort out. I'd recommend tropicos.org or ipni.org over the plant list. You'll also find the original publications there also. P. tuberculata has a beautiful illustration with the protologue! Very light fragrance.
