Pink Frost

Kathy M. found this tree in an old barrio area of Anaheim and the lady said in Spanish that she got it from a friend 20 years ago. I never saw this at Marilynn's, it looked more like a generic bloom. It's not lei quality, the blooms average at 4", and the pink comes on in the heat. It's possible that this could have been brought from Mexico but my Spanish is limited. I gave a cutting to Upland Nursery and Malee named it pink frost on her online sales web page. Related to Slaughter Pink but bloom in larger size and brighter color, a prolific soft pink bloomer with a floral fragrance. It's a quick grower with thick, hardy branches lending to numerous pink bloom on the tree.
