Tahitian Red
Description
Cultivar with multiple registered names including Suva red, Thai One, Blood Red, and Darwin Blood Red. Similar to Polynesian Red with reverse cupped petals. Features nice rose fragrance and very faint spicy scent. Related variant Tahitian Sunset: sibling of Polynesian Sunset with three-inch mixture of pink, yellow, orange, and white flowers with mild gardenia-floral fragrance. Lower and more compact tree than other sibling. Another seedling by Merrill O'Neil of Houston. Soft rainbow colors with large blooms, lanky growth, tall grower, reliable bloomer with soft sherbet colors, mild gardenia-floral scent, and compact grower. Very strong bloomer with semi-compact growth. Tall grower. Sets seed.
