Description
Historical note rather than cultivar description. Mayan princes routinely carried flower bouquets in public, expected whenever in the presence of a chief. Royal gardens included plumeria, which was used in personal decoration, medicine, and ceremonies. European explorers, despite ambitious efforts funded by the King of Spain, did not document the species.
Provenance
Historical/cultural note regarding Mayan use of plumeria; undocumented by European explorers.
