Description

This cultivar is found on the Atherton Tablelands in Australia. The flowers are 2.5 to 3 inches, not actually blue but a pastel shade of purple. The buds are deep purple, opening to pastel purple with light orange-reddish center. The flowers appear in tight bunches. The scent is very strong and sweet with fruity overtones. Light lavender pink blossoms fade to nearly white with lavender buds. The plant is a very small tree with somewhat miniature-looking, extremely pointed 8 to 12 inch leaves. The cultivar has mild grape fragrance and seldom produces pods.

Appearance

2.5-3 inches, pastel purple not blue, deep purple buds opening to pastel with orange-reddish center. Light lavender pink fading to nearly white.

Bloom

Tight bunches, 2.5-3 inches.

Fragrance

Very strong and sweet with fruity overtones. Mild grape fragrance noted.

Very small tree with miniature-looking extremely pointed 8-12 inch leaves.

Cultivation Tips

Must be placed in at least half-day's shade, preferably afternoon. Seldom produces pods.
