Smells like popcorn with huge bloom heads. From Mexico but confirmed as Himatanthus species, not Plumeria. Probably from Brazil. Plants seen on high plateaus at 5,000 feet elevation. Armando claims to have discovered it in Zacatecas, Mexico. Slow grower with knobby wood and slow emergence from dormancy.

Smells like popcorn. Huge bloom heads. Zacatecas from Mexico is actually not a Plumeria but a species of Himatanthus (confirmed). Probably from Brazil. Plants have been seen on the high plateau areas at an elevation of 5000 feet. Armando claims to have discovered it in his birth town of Zacatecas Mexico. He had a very large Zacatecas on his Mother's property here in SoCal. Ugliest plumeria tree I ever saw. Armando did say that Jack Morgan had acquired a bunch of cuttings of his Zacatecas. Slow grower. Knobby wood. Slow to come out of dormancy.
