Description
From Atom, 2008. A compact plumeria (mature 2-3m with thick, fat branches) producing 2.5-3.5" rounded blooms characterized by a unique 'crackling' pattern of white veins on pink-to-red-purple petals edged in violet, blue-purple, or royal indigo. Some forms show striking white veining over deep orchid pink with royal blue edges; a small pale orange-yellow or glowing gold center is typical. Petals are wide, overlapping, with a velvety sheen. Fragrance is a strong, sweet berry and fruit scent, slightly spicy, stronger after picking and when well watered or when daily highs stay under 92°F. A heavy, very long bloomer that can carry inflorescences for up to 12 months, surviving winter storage, though it sometimes skips bloom seasons. Keeping quality is excellent. Leaf nodes are pink. Not cold tolerant. Sets seed.
Appearance
Rounded 2.5-3.5" blooms, wide overlapping petals with a velvety sheen and thick substance. Color runs from moderate-strong red to pink with violet, blue-purple, or royal indigo edges; white veins form grainy 'crackling' lines across the entire flower (front and back); centers are small pale orange-yellow to glowing gold. Pink leaf nodes.
Bloom
Very long blooming, often carrying inflorescences for up to 12 months and surviving winter storage. Heavy bloomer, though sometimes skips seasons.
