Description
Truly lavender purple flowers with a fiery orange-yellow center. Petals are narrow, elliptical, slightly twisted, overlapped and pointed-tipped, measuring 3 inches. Produces very large bunches of flowers all over the tree. Individually flowers are not as impressive as Jack's Purple, but Lilac Clouds excels at production. Similar to Indonesian violet but superior with a strong red eye in center. Requires heat and humidity to display best coloring; without these conditions, flowers can appear pale greyish pink or greyish white. Similar to JL Metallica in appearance. Compact growth habit and very difficult to root.
Appearance

Bloom
Very large bunches all over the tree. 3.5-4 inches in some specimens. Peach and lilac fragrance in related forms.
Fragrance
Slight sweet fragrance. Coconut scent reported in some variants.

Compact growth habit with many branches. Similar to Indonesian violet in growth. Similar to Lilac Mist in some characteristics.
Cultivation Tips
Needs lots of heat and humidity. Without these conditions, flowers appear pale greyish. Looks best in the tropics. Very difficult to root. Cold sensitive.

Similar to North Queensland Blue. 2.5" with a peach and lilac fragrance. Compact growth habit with many branches. Long lavender petals with dark red center. Flowers are fragrant citrus. Truly lavender purple with fiery orange- yellow center, petals are narrow, elliptical, slightly twisted, overlapped and pointed tipped, slight sweet fragrance, 3". Individually the flowers are not as impressive as Jack's Purple, however, Lilac Clouds produces very large bunches all over the tree. Very similar to Indonesian violet but is superior and has a strong red eye in the center. Like most of the lilac lavender frangipanis, needs a lot of heat and humidity. Otherwise the flowers can be a pale greyish pink/greyish white. Looks its absolute best in the tropics. Color reminds me a lot of JL Metallica. It's really pretty (and a little darker) and smells coconut. Growth habit also seems to be somewhat compact. Very difficult to root. Lilac Mist Medium tree. Lilac-pink, beautifully veined, 3.5-4”.
