Colors

Description
From B. Spurgeon, a seedling of Gardena (initially considered a cross with Gardenia or Trumpet, but these are not the parents). White flowers with a red stripe on the back of the petal, a yellow center, and a bright red heart. Fragrance is very spicy, sometimes described as lilac. It has the longest bloom period. Hardy and cold tolerant but with poor keeping quality. A good graft host. Appears indistinguishable from Gardena and similar to Blush Pink, although Blush Pink differs slightly in the petal back and has a floral rather than lilac scent. Sets seed.
